When you arrive at the death site, you are revolted at what you see: behold, the great deadself. He’s burnt to a crisp, always being dragged around. You notice your necklace affixed to the body, the old thing you promised you’d never take off, and that’s when you realise that it’s missing from your own body.
You pluck it off like sticky pearls.
This is when you notice Sally, the talking salamander with whom you bonded before your untimely death. With that dying, you almost forgot how she was with you as you climbed up the mountain. What a horrifying shock it must have been.
She seems so happy.
SALLY: OH MY GOD LOVINO!!!!! SALLY: I didn’t know you were the witch! LOVINO: The what? SALLY: The witch! The one who will save us all. LOVINO: I don’t understand SALLY: This world used to have color, but I’m too young to remember it. The elders say it was beautiful. SALLY: But the color faded, sapped out of the planet for reasons I don’t understand. SALLY: It is the witch who will drench our planet in blood, purifying the earth for the color to return. SALLY: That is what the elders would tell us, to give us hope as we watched yet another setting grey sky. LOVINO: I don’t think I can do that. SALLY: Oh, sure you can!
